Happy New Year

Grand Knight's Message
The new year started off in terrific fashion with a very successful parish event – The International Food Fest on January 13. It was a great way to put the lockdown years behind us and get back to our normal joy-filled Catholic parish events.
The event drew ~ 120 parishioners, many of whom were new faces. There was great music, food, dancing, laughter, and just great fun by all the attendees. This looks like an event that can become a yearly occurrence.
Many thanks are in order… first for the collaboration with the CCW, which helped to extend our reach within the parish. Second, for the Knights on the Planning Committee: PGK Dave Adams, PGK Al LoGiudice (who was also the emcee for the event), Kennedy Arockiam, and PGK Manny Cirne. Finally, for Harley Ruth and PGK Sal Longo who ran the 50/50. Sal also gifted the crowd by singing a beautiful song for the attendees during the event that blew everyone away – he is one talented fellow.
Finally… say a prayer for the success of the National Right to Life March in Washington this coming Friday, January 19. Pray for the changing of hearts and minds towards protecting life - from conception to natural death.
January 19: National Right to Life March in Washington DC.
January 20 – KofC Youth Free Throw Contest, 9:30-11 AM in the Parish Hall Basketball court (starting after 9:00 Mass).
- Spread the word about this event.
- 9-11-year-old boys and girls will register and participate from 9:30-10:15
- 12-14-year-old boys and girls will register and participate from 10:15-11:30
- Proof of age must be provided.
Help is needed to register the contestants and monitor and record the shooting of the participants. If you have children participating, please lend a hand with the event itself.
January 24 – Council Social Meeting at 7:30 PM in the conference room.
February 2 – First Friday of the month Eucharistic Adoration – Knights of the Eucharist: 7:00 PM
February 11 - Communion Breakfast- 11:00. Msgr. Prus and Deacon John will be the speakers on the topic of the Eucharist.
This event, which was a yearly staple of parish life, was discontinued during the lockdown years, but is now being brought back, and it coincides with the National Eucharistic Revival. Thus, both speaker’s talks will address this uniquely Catholic sacrament.
The event is in the planning stages. In the spirit the Eucharistic Revival, a display of the 100 Eucharistic Miracles throughout the World will be set up for viewing during and after the event.
Volunteers to be on the committee to plan this event are needed to make this event a success. We will also need kitchen help on Saturday and Sunday to make breakfast. Thank you.
A non-KofC parish event of interest: A small group study on Jesus and the Eucharist is beginning Monday Jan 29. This series includes a mix of videos and small group discussion. This will be offered via:
- Zoom on Mondays at 10:00 AM
- in-person on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM, and
- at home for families to use via video on their own
- This event is free, and you can sign up on the parish website or in the parish Narthex.
As always, please keep our Council and our brothers in your prayers as we invoke Blessed Father McGivney to guide our Council in our mission of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.
