Brother Edward J Schmidt

Dear Brothers, Family, and Friends,

Brother Edward J. Schmidt has passed into eternal life, leaving behind a legacy of dedicated service, kindness, and culinary expertise. Eddie was a man of many talents and an integral part of our council.

Ed was a longstanding member of our council, having served the Knights for over 60 years. During his time with us, he became known for his remarkable cooking skills and his willingness to put in the time and effort to ensure that our social events were memorable and enjoyable for all who attended.
Ed's contributions to our council were immeasurable. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it was by cooking for our events or by volunteering his time to help with our various projects and initiatives, such as the collection for the foodbank. His dedication and commitment to our council never wavered, and he remained a very generous and active and engaged member until about two years ago when he was no longer able to continue.

Ed's impact extended far beyond our council. He was a beloved member of the community, known for his kindness, generosity, and warm personality. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and at home, and his infectious smile and jovial nature could brighten even the darkest of days. As we reflect on Ed's life and legacy, we are reminded of the importance of service, kindness, and community. Ed embodied these values throughout his life, and his example serves as an inspiration to us all. Ed was awarded the Volunteer of the Year award at least once but deserved it every year he was a member of our council.

We will miss Brother Eddie deeply, but we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the countless hearts he warmed. Rest in peace, Ed, and know that you will always be remembered with love and gratitude.

Visitation is on Friday, February 24 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. at Higgins Funeral Home. Please join us for our Council's Prayer Service at 6:30 PM

Exemplification Ceremony

The Knights of Columbus has revised the degree program; it is now one Exemplification Ceremony which combines 1st. (Charity) 2nd. Unity and 3rd. Fraternity, our Orders' principles. The one degree is now the Charity, Unity and Fraternity (CUF) degree. The 4th (Patriotism) continues to be a distinct event.

The link below includes a video of the ceremony. Take the time to view this video as a refresher as to what the nights are about and why you joined and to help you explain to your family who the Knights are, what we stand for and what we do.
