PGK Jon De Leon Dinner
Thank You!
Dear Worthy Brothers, Family, and Friends,
I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for your support and prayers in my 2 years as Grand Knight. While it was a lot of work, I had an amazing time meeting new people and more importantly helping our local community and Parish.
The Council threw a wonderful dinner in honor of me and my family. Please know that the honor is all on this side of the table. It has been an honor and pleasure to serve as your Grand Knight these past 2 years. I hope I was able to hold the position with the same grace and prestige as the Grand Knights that came before me.
I want to thank the committee of GK Bill Maxwell, PGKs Bob Warren, Vinny Scafuto, Manny Cirne, Dave Adams, and Treasurer Brother Kennedy Arockiam for organizing and planning the event.
Thank you to Br. Harley Juth, and all of those who helped setup for the dinner and contributed to the great desserts. I know how many people it takes to put on a dinner of that size!
Thank you to Fr. Brian, Fr. Paul, Msgr. Prus, and the Vocationist Sisters and Brother Eric Koppi for taking time out of your Saturday evening and coming out to the dinner! It was great seeing you!
Thank you to GK Bill Maxwell for all your kind words. Also thank you and your wife Ketrin for starting the tradition of giving flowers to the wife of the newly minted PGK. My wife Alison really enjoys the flowers!
Thank you to all those that came out! It was nice seeing and catching up with you!
Finally, saving the best for last, thank you to my wife Alison for your love and support every single day. As I said, there is no "Grand Knight Jon De Leon" without you. To my kids Jack and Grant, thank you for your motivation every day. You are remarkable sons, and you make mom and dad proud every day!
I love you Alison, Jack, and Grant.

On Veterans Day, November 11, 2023, the Council, and the Church will once again Honoring Our Veterans at 5pm outside the church. I hope you will join us in the somber celebration of those who served in our Parish.
More details will follow the week of October 14-15 in the Church Bulletin.
In the meanwhile, please respond to a sign-up genius email you will receive shortly. The committee needs a couple hours of your time for assistance in preparing for the program, “planting” the flags, etc. in the days and weeks ahead.
Donations in the name of each veteran will be accepted via check payable to Knights of Columbus 5959 with proceeds benefiting the KofC Send a Hero Home Program, enabling active-duty personnel ranks E-4 and below travel expense assistance to go home for Christmas. Last year, through your generosity, we were able to donate the net proceeds to these Vets to get them home. Suggested donation is $25. Please donate as your means allow whether participating in the flag program or not.
I want to thank you for your donations and/or time to the NJ Knights of Columbus’ “Send A Hero Home” program to help junior ranking military men and women pay for their travel home for the Christmas holiday to which they richly deserve.

Exemplification Ceremony
The Knights of Columbus has revised the degree program; it is now one Exemplification Ceremony which combines 1st. (Charity) 2nd. Unity and 3rd. Fraternity, our Orders' principles. The one degree is now the Charity, Unity and Fraternity (CUF) degree. The 4th (Patriotism) continues to be a distinct event.
The link below includes a video of the ceremony. Take the time to view this video as a refresher as to what the Knights of Columbus are about and why you joined and to help you explain to your family who the Knights are, what we stand for and what we do.
