Grand Knight's Message

Dear Worthy Brothers, Family and Friends,

I wish to thank all the brothers who assisted with the Officer Installation ceremony and Past Grand Knight Dinner on September 23. Special appreciation to District Deputy Jim Gallombardo for conducting the Installation and to the PGK Dinner Committee members: PGK Dave Adams, PGK Manny Cirne, Kennedy Arokiam, PGK Vinny Scafuto and Harley Juth. It was a well-attended and memorable evening where we took the opportunity to honor PGK Jon DeLeon and his family for his service to the council over the past 2 years.

Looking ahead…
This upcoming weekend (Sept30/Oct1) is an important weekend for our council and our parish. It is Membership Drive weekend, and the outcome of this weekend will drive our ability to build a stronger council and by extension, a stronger parish.

Father Brian is supporting our council by allowing time for the recruitment speech before the mass begins. There will be these recruitment speeches before each of the masses over the weekend. In addition, we will be serving coffee and donuts after the 10:00 AM mass.

It is important that all brothers attending the masses visibly display our Unity and Fraternity by wearing KofC pins and/or badges. Doing so demonstrates our commitment to our council without having to say a word. We also need Brothers to greet prospective candidates before and after masses and help with the coffee and donut setup and cleanup.

Other upcoming Knights events and events supported by the Knights:
  • October 6: Eucharistic Revival – First Friday Holy Hour: 7:00 PM
  • October 7/8 New Jersey Right to Life Raffle – after all the masses
  • October 11 – Council Meeting (Business)
  • October 25 – Council Meeting (Business/Social)
  • November 4 – Memorial Mass
  • November 11 – Veteran’s Day Ceremony
Also, in the planning stages are:
  • International Food Fest Dinner Event for the entire parish
  • Youth Free Throw Contest
  • Youth Essay Contest
  • Other ideas are welcome!
Let’s all come together for a successful membership drive.
Vivat Jesus!
Sincerely,
GK Bill

Exemplification Ceremony

The Knights of Columbus has revised the degree program; it is now one Exemplification Ceremony which combines 1st. (Charity) 2nd. Unity and 3rd. Fraternity, our Orders' principles. The one degree is now the Charity, Unity and Fraternity (CUF) degree. The 4th (Patriotism) continues to be a distinct event.

The link below includes a video of the ceremony. Take the time to view this video as a refresher as to what the Knights of Columbus are about and why you joined and to help you explain to your family who the Knights are, what we stand for and what we do.
