Grand Knight's Message

Dear Worthy Brothers, Family and Friends,

…each tree is known by its own fruit. (Luke: 6:43)
Council #5959 is bearing good fruit!

Our Council has two notable events coming up in the next two weeks. This Saturday, September 23, we will be holding two events that are highlights of the year – the Officer Installation and the dinner to honor our Past Grand Knight, Jon De Leon.

The Officer Installation will be conducted by our District Deputy, Jim Gallombardo, right after the 4:00 PM Mass. It is a very enjoyable ceremony. If you attend the Vigil Mass, please consider staying after Mass to attend the ceremony.

Then, at 6:00 pm in the Parish Hall, we will hold the Past Grand Knight Dinner to honor Jon De Leon, who served as Grand Knight for the past two years.

Thank you to all those that will attend, we are expecting close to fifty people. If you have not yet paid, please bring a check made out to Knights of Columbus Council 5959 for $40 per person.

If you can help set up, we will have a setup social starting at 9am on Saturday. "Many hands make for light work, and it is a lot more fun; we'd love to see you there, click here to sign up to join the setup party.

Then, the following weekend, we will be holding our Membership Drive after all the masses on September 30/October 1. We are looking for Knights to act as greeters and hand out brochures to potential Knights, click here to sign up on signup genius.

Vivat Jesus!
Sincerely,
GK Bill

The Tribute Dinner to Honor PGK Jon is a BYOB event and if you wish, please bring a dessert to share!

Exemplification Ceremony

The Knights of Columbus has revised the degree program; it is now one Exemplification Ceremony which combines 1st. (Charity) 2nd. Unity and 3rd. Fraternity, our Orders' principles. The one degree is now the Charity, Unity and Fraternity (CUF) degree. The 4th (Patriotism) continues to be a distinct event.

The link below includes a video of the ceremony. Take the time to view this video as a refresher as to what the Knights of Columbus are about and why you joined and to help you explain to your family who the Knights are, what we stand for and what we do.
