Grand Knight's Message
Dear Worthy Brothers, Family and Friends,
…each tree is known by its own fruit. (Luke: 6:43)
Council #5959 is bearing good fruit!
On September 7, the Councils of the Metuchen Diocese held their “Pride in our Priests” dinner where we conveyed our gratitude to our parish priests for all the wonderful blessings and sacrifices they make on our behalf.
On September 10, PGK Pat Noonan organized a Red Cross blood drive that generated 35 pints of life-saving blood for local blood banks. Thank you, Pat. Well done!
Looking ahead…
Our Council has two important events coming up in the next two weeks. On September 23, we will be holding two events that are highlights of the year – the Officer Installation and the dinner to honor our Past Grand Knight, Jon DeLeon.
The Officer Installation will be conducted by our District Deputy, Jim Gallombardo, right after the 4:00 Mass. It is a very enjoyable ceremony. If you attend 4:00 O'clock Mass, please consider staying after Mass to attend the ceremony. Then, at 6:00 pm in the Parish Hall, we will hold the Past Grand Knight Dinner to honor Jon De Leon, who served as Grand Knight the past two years. From the responses to the invitations, this event figures to be well attended.
Then, the following weekend, we will be holding our Membership Drive after all the masses on September 30/October 1. We are looking for Knights to act as greeters and hand out brochures to potential Knights, click here to sign up on signup genius.

Exemplification Ceremony
The Knights of Columbus has revised the degree program; it is now one Exemplification Ceremony which combines 1st. (Charity) 2nd. Unity and 3rd. Fraternity, our Orders' principles. The one degree is now the Charity, Unity and Fraternity (CUF) degree. The 4th (Patriotism) continues to be a distinct event.
The link below includes a video of the ceremony. Take the time to view this video as a refresher as to what the Knights of Columbus are about and why you joined and to help you explain to your family who the Knights are, what we stand for and what we do.
