Grand Knight's Message

20181017_192449

Grand Knight,

Jonathan De Leon

Dear Brothers, Sir Knights, Friends and Family,

Firstly, I would like to once again thank the brothers that were able to join us, as a council, washing the statues at Blessed Sacrament last week.

We have another opportunity to serve our parish this Saturday, tomorrow, by continuing the beautification of the statues. We are expecting to be able to paint the ones that need paint, and plan for those that may need further repairs.

As you may already know, we are planning our next major event, and have earmarked the proceeds to the "Culture of Life" cause. In collaboration with our sister councils of District 64, we are raising funds to purchase an ultrasound machine for a New Brunswick woman's counseling center! It has been proven that, when a mother considering an abortion sees the baby in her own womb, she will realize that instead, she will want to nurture her unborn baby until the day she can hold the baby boy or girl in her arms. She will hug and kiss him or her and realize how privileged she is and the amazing miracle that was granted her by God.

For us to be able to make a difference, we need your help! We will use Signup Genius to recruit members of our council to volunteer at this event.

Thank you and God Bless!
Vivat Jesu,
Jon De Leon

Fall Fest - Your help is needed!

Please volunteer at our Parish's Fall Festival on Sunday, September 26th. Keep an eye on the bulletin and the Parish Webpage for the latest updates.

Our Culture is LIFE!

Tribute to the late Vinnie Tavormina, Past State Deputy

Brothers,

Strange how things come together. My wife, Pat, recently ran across a mention for an Open House at a new facility in Warren at the Flag Plaza called, "Inspire"

Since it seemed to be associated with a pro-life group whose mission was to offer women and families those services that would enable them to consider keeping their babies and also encourage personal growth and family development, we decided to go and see what they were about....Pat and I have been involved with Pro-Life going way back.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a thoroughly Catholic group, many of whose members we already knew. The real surprise was to enter a small room and encountering this large poster. They have a beautiful facility with Counseling Rooms, this UltraSound lab, etc.

Bishop Checchio personally blessed the offices last week, the article will appear in the next issue of The Catholic Spirit.

Now you know what it is that we're supporting.

Fraternally Yours,
Br. Al Beronio

Brothers, Family and Friends,

If you watch the Yankees on television, you're aware that they honor a veteran during the game by showing his picture and giving a few particulars.
This Sunday, 9/19, Frank De Vita will be honored as the WWII vet that he is. His son said that it will be done after the third inning, but I've most often seen it done after the top of the seventh inning. Anyway, Frank will be the guy!

Fraternally Yours,
PGK Fred C.

American Veteran

Brother Frank DeVita will be featured in a PBS program, AmVet, Tracing the veteran experience across the arc of American history. Click on this link to learn more. American Veteran (pbs.org) - Premieres Oct 26, 9/8c
