Grand Knight's Message

20181017_192449

Grand Knight,

Jonathan De Leon

Dear Brothers, Family, and Friends,

As Summer ends and Fall begins, this is usually the time for new beginnings (for example, kids starting a new school) or the restart of our routines after a hopefully restful and re-energizing Summer.

During the weekend of 9/10-9/11 at all masses, we held our very first Church Membership Drive. Thank you Fr. Brian and Fr. Paul for the time at the Pulpit! We received a few cards from our Parishioners with a couple indicating their interest in becoming a Knight! This is great news as we begin to rebuild our core. Also, we hosted a coffee and donuts event for the Parish after the 10 AM and Noon masses. It was a blast meeting new parishioners and catching up with familiar faces.

At our last Council meeting on 9/14, we confirmed the following November events:

1) Sunday 11/6 after the Noon Mass: Veteran's Day ceremony
2) Saturday 11/12 4PM Memorial Mass for all Deceased Knights.
3) Installation of Officers to follow after the Mass

Our next Council meeting on 9/28 will be more social than business. Please come out and catch up with your fellow Knights.

Thank you and have a great week!
Rebuild. Rebrand. Reinvigorate.

Vivat Jesus,
Jon De Leon, Grand Knight

Brothers, family and friends,

As reported above in the GK's message, we had a busy 9/10 & 11 weekend with three events.

The American Red Cross Blood Drive, Membership Membership Drive and the Parish Coffee, Donuts and Bagels. We will continue to host these types of events, but also must host fundraisers to be able to continue practicing our principle of charity. Please join us at the next meeting with your ideas and proposals.

Thank you to Br. Edwin Vallejo, who recently joined our council and was key to our success with the Parish CD&B event! Thank you Brother Edwin. We are grateful also to PGK Dave, Br. Kennedy and Br. Harley for the great support provided to our council and church during the weekend!

Thank you PGK Pat for leading another successful American Red Cross Blood Drive and congratulations on a successful weekend to GK Jon... juggling, family commitments and three events all at the same time!

Fraternally yours, from Florida,

PGK Manny
Brothers, Family and Friends,

On September 29, a documentary film on the role of St. Michael in scripture and in our lives will be playing in a limited release at 7:00 PM at South Plainfield, Watchung and North Brunswick. This looks to be a very inspirational and uplifting movie for all of us devout Catholics. Let's support these independent film makers who are boldly producing films that show our Catholic faith in a positive light.

Fraternally Yours,

William Maxwell

Exemplification Ceremony

The Knights of Columbus has revised the degree program; it is now one Exemplification Ceremony which combines 1st. (Charity) 2nd. Unity and 3rd. Fraternity, our Orders' principles. The one degree is now the Charity, Unity and Fraternity (CUF) degree. The 4th (Patriotism) continues to be a distinct event.

The link below includes a video of the ceremony. Take the time to view this video as a refresher as to what the nights are about and why you joined and to help you explain to your family who the Knights are, what we stand for and what we do.
