Grand Knight's Message

Grand Knight,

Jonathan De Leon

Worthy Brothers, Family and Friends,

I hope your Summer is off to a good start and that all is well.

Unfortunately, we couldn't have our Church Drive the weekend of May 21-22. I tested positive for COVID 2 hrs. prior to the 4pm mass. Thankfully, I had little symptoms and was symptom free by that Monday. The Drive will be postponed until early September.

As our 2021-2022 Fraternal Year ends, we need to fill our Slate of Officers and Directors for the next fraternal year. I am personally asking for your involvement in leadership roles within the Council, this is vital for Our Lady of the Hills to survive and grow. As I mentioned in the last Wind of the Hills, we need to REBUILD our core. By rebuilding our core, the rebranding and reinvigorating will naturally follow.

This week's Council Meeting on June 8th is an important one. We will be discussing the Slate of Officers and will be looking for people to fill some of these roles. I've already committed to a 2nd year as Grand Knight.

Pizza refreshments will be provided at this meeting. I also want this to be an opportunity to catch up with each other.

I look forward to seeing you at the meeting. Please email me at kofc5959.jondeleon@gmail.com by Tuesday if you are coming so that I can get an accurate count for pizza.

Vivat Jesus,
Jon De Leon

Exemplification Ceremony

The Knights of Columbus has revised the degree program; it is now one Exemplification Ceremony which combines 1st. (Charity) 2nd. Unity and 3rd. Fraternity, our Orders' principles. The one degree is now the Charity, Unity and Fraternity (CUF) degree. The 4th (Patriotism) continues to be a distinct event.

The link below includes a video of the ceremony. Take the time to view this video as a refresher as to what the nights are about and why you joined and to help you explain to your family who the Knights are, what we stand for and what we do.
