Dear Brothers,
I am writing to let you know that my father-in-law, Matthew Marabello a long-time Knight, had passed away last night. Matt had been doing quite well recently but on Tuesday suffered a sudden major stroke. He was in hospice for a short time before he passed. For those who knew him, he was one of the kindest, caring, and generous men you would ever come to know. As my father-in-law, I witnessed his many acts of kindness over the years. He was patient and life-giving with deep faith and devotion to the lord. I am sure he had a direct pathway to heaven and is with his beloved Mildred now.

Letter to the editor
I recently received the newsletter and really appreciated it being resurrected. It is great reading and very well done; but, I'm not surprised since you published it.
|
Glad to hear that you're back from Florida; I wish you all the best with everything in your life. Best wishes to you, Connie, and your family for a very merry Christmas and much happiness in the new year.
|
Best regards.............Bro. Matt

Dear Brothers,
Please read the sad news regarding Br. Matt Marabello's passing. May he Rest in Peace in the arms of Our Lady, Queen of the Knights.
When I joining the Knights of Columbus I was looking for a way to get involved... Br Matt was one of the first to provide and option. He asked me to join him in publishing the Wind O' the Hills, back in the 1990's. Matt showed me how to cut and past, really! the manual way, and lead by example in making me understand what it meant to publish the council's newsletter.
On the left, find an email from Br. Gene regarding Br. Matts passing into eternal life.
I found one picture which includes Br. Matt, find it on the left, and one "Letter to the Editor" that Br. Matt was so kind to send me before Christmas 2008, on my return from Miami.
May good rest his soul and provide comfort to his family.
Fraternally Yours,
PGK Manny

Special Documentary Screening for Knights
and Their Families
Knights and their families are invited to sign up for an exclusive screening of the Emmy Award-winning documentary Beauty of Their Dreams, which tells the stories of individuals and faith groups advocating for girls’ education around the world. It also highlights the Marengoni Primary School in Uganda, which serves children who are orphaned because of AIDS, and was constructed in 2012 by the Apostles of Jesus with assistance from the Knights of Columbus. The film is available to Knights and their families for free streaming from April 25 to May 2. If in-person events are allowed in your area, consider hosting a family movie night at your parish. If not, please share the information and links with your council and parishioners. To watch the trailer and register now to get access to the film starting April 25, click here.

Mothers Day Carnations
|
|
|
Brothers,
As is our council's tradition, we will be offering carnations to all mothers, after all Masses on May 8th and 9th, Mothers Day weekend.
We want to be sure we have a leader for each Mass; please give me a call at the shop (732-271-1987) and let me know which Mass you will be attending. Whichever mass you attend, please make yourself available as we will not be able to leave the flowers unattended; due to pandemic regulations, self-service is not allowed and we want to personally wish all mothers a Happy Mothers Day from Our Lady of the Hills, Council 5959.
It's great to be able to return to "normal", and we appreciate your participation and efforts to make Mothers Day Carnations, our first post-COVID-19 in-person event a success!
Fraternally Yours,
PGK Sal Longo
Mothers Day Carnations Chairman
