GK's Message
Dear reader reader:

Congratulations to Br. Bob Riggio for an excellent job running the Fall Plant sale, and again we have great picture of Bob and his Grandsons! Thank you fro continuing to involve your family in this fruitful activity! For the great job Br. Bob did with the plant sale, he is the Knight of the Month for September.

At this weeks meeting we heard two incredible stories of a Special Olympics athlete, Paul, and of a Special Olympics volunteer, Larry Hanko, both of them 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. See correspondence and picture below. Thank you to PGK John Arcoleo for introducing us to these exceptional individuals and organization.

I want to again, bring to your attention the Parish Picnic and 50th Anniversary Celebration, we will be supporting the parish by providing labor to setup the coffee station, sell the 50/50 raffle tickets, man the KofC Council 5959 Ministry Table, as well as donate gift cards and as items for the basket raffle. On the same date, we will also be participating on the Chain for Life in Somerville, see below for more information on this event.

On November 4th we will have the Knights of Columbus Council 5959 Memorial Mass and Installation of Officers which will now be in a new format. This event will now include the entire parish and start with the 12:00 Noon Mass, followed by the Installation of Officers. All council officers are obliged to attend the Mass and of-course the installation, please let me know if for any reason you will not be able to attend.

Larry , it was our pleasure to host both you and Paul. I am truly amazed at your dedication and the services you provide for the athletes. Our council will continue its fund raising efforts to financially assist organizations like Special Olympics. We look forward to our Spring Plant sale, perhaps we could advertise in your news letter to raise awareness. Thank you and wishing a Blessed year.

Sincerely,

Good Morning Vincent,
A "Special Thanks" to you and the Brother Knights for such a warm and attentive reception. As noted, Special Olympics Somerset Council is truly grateful for the support from Our Lady of The Hills, K/C Council 5959. Our athletes have indeed been blessed with your gracious donations and kindly note that 100% of your donations have been put directly towards supporting our year-round training programs, as Area Directors and all of our coaches are volunteers. Our organization is truly blessed with your generosity. God Bless!
