GK's Message
Dear reader reader:

It has been a tough year for our council, we have lost some of our greatest and most influential bothers. Just this last weekend, we lost Br. Dominick Rizzitano who was called home to the lord on September 2. I would like to thank so many of the council brothers and families that participated in the wake and funeral to honor our brother and pay respects to his family. I would like to, as well, thank the George Washington Assembly Honor Guard for participating both at the wake and funeral in reverence to our beloved brother. We pray for Marie and their family, and that Brother Dom's soul rest in peace.

We are now getting into the busier part of our calendar with our first Blood-Drive coming up this Sunday, and the Fall plant sale two weeks later. I want to especially bring your attention to the Parish Picnic and 50th Anniversary Celebration, the Oktoberfest which is our marquee event, we will need all-hands-on-deck for this one. In November we will have the Knights of Columbus Council 5959 Memorial Mass and Installation of Officers which will now be in a new format. This event will now include the entire parish and start with the Memorial Mass on Sunday November 4 12:00 Noon Mass, followed by the Installation of Officers. All council officers are obliged to attend the Mass and of-course the installation, please let me know if for any reason you will not be able to attend.
